Internship Applicant Eligibility

  • Undergraduate to Postgraduate Competition – 5 Categories, ages 18+
  • Individual and Team applications – each individual from a Finalist team will interview as a candidate
  • Career Breakout Showcase are not part of the internship candidate pool

  • Judges from each organisation
    • 1 judge up to 4 maximum
    • Name, role title and email
    • Headshot (for social cards) and short bio (for judges profile on website)

    • 5 min to speak about the organisation & internship opportunity
    • Promote to your networks (partner social card provided by Innovate UK Immersive Tech Network marketing)
  • 16 Mar Applications Deadline
    • Co-marketing campaign with Innovate Immersive Tech Network

Judging Process

Please see the Judges Hub for details of the below 3 stage judging process.

  • 18 March 2025 Judges Info Session 4:30-5:00pm (will include judges from all partners) recording will be available afterwards for those who can’t attend
  • 1st Stage: 19-30 Mar 2025 Judges Score Applications individually
  • 2nd Stage: 7 Apr 2025 Judges Meeting – Deliberate Finalists 11:00am-12:15pm Zoom meeting after 2-6 Apr judges review top finalists videos individually
  • 8 Apr 2025 Finalists Announced (no judges action required)
  • 3rd Stage: 23 Apr 2025 Virtual Pitch Day 9:00am-3:00pm (1 hour lunch break) Zoom meeting – all judges required

Internships Interview process

  • 10 Apr 2025 Internship Interviews Briefing 4:00-4:30pm 30 min
    • Finalists interview candidates contact information shared following the meeting
    • Discussion of each partner’s interview timeline to help align overall scheduling ease
    • 2024: Deborah Henderson from Soluis kindly led coordination of candidates’ CV collection to follow – shared folder access in Innovate UK Immersive Tech Network Sharepoint
  • 23 Apr 2025 Virtual Pitch Day 9:00am-3:00pm (1 hour lunch break)
    •  Interviewers can join (while not judging) to get to know finalists projects and pitch performance before interviews – provides unique glimpse into candidate talent beyond interview questions
  • 24 Apr – 9 May 2025 Finalists Interviews for Internships
    • Coordinated directly between each organisation and all Finalists once Innovate UK Immersive Tech Network shares Finalists’ contact info
    • 2024: great collaboration between all 4 internships interview leads
    • Planned to begin after 23 Apr Virtual Pitch Day to allow finalists preparation for each step
  • 13 May 2025 Internship Partners Meeting 2:00-2:30pm (13th date & time being confirmed with all partners)
    • Friendly discussion between all internship partners coordinated by Innovate UK Immersive Tech Network to ensure each partner is happy with top choice candidates to proceed offers
  • 13-29 May 2025 Internship Offers/ Acceptance
  • 2 or 3 June 5:30PM Awards Reception & Winners Announced 
    • Private Showcase 1 hour ahead of event opening (for partners & judges)
