Augment The City – Belfast

Belfast City Council are opening a new funding competition to support local SMEs to innovate in immersive technologies to enhance the visitor experience, with an online information session on 18 April 2024. Closing date mid-May 2024. Funding of £10k to £145k per organisation.

Women TechEU is a 2-year EU-funded project supporting women leading deep tech startup companies from Europe. Each of 160 beneficiaries will receive €75k grants and a personalised business development programme.

The fund’s first call will support innovation for UK video games. There are two separate challenges: “new, transformative and open data for the UK video games sector” (up to £250k), and “support for under-represented emerging developers” (up to £100k).

MASTER focuses on utilizing Extended Reality (XR) technologies to enhance the teaching and training of robotics in manufacturing by developing an open XR platform. The first Open Call will centre on creating proven digital learning solutions ready for immediate deployment using XR technology. Applicants may address specific technical challenges that have been outlined or propose their own challenges.

XR2Industry is an EU-funded project that will create a European XR reference platform by developing the first European XR headset.

UK registered micro and small businesses can apply for a share of up to £1.5m for projects that grow their innovation activities (including immersive technologies) in the digital technology cluster in North East England.

UK registered SMEs can apply for grant funding alongside private investment from selected investor partners: specific themes for round 7 include digital mental health (including immersive content) and creative industries.

UK registered micro and small businesses can apply for a share of up to £1.5 million for projects that grow their innovation activities in the immersive and creative industries cluster centred on Coventry and Warwickshire in the West Midlands.

Supporting UK screen content businesses across film, TV, animation and interactive narrative video games to enhance their international activities.

This is your chance to develop an amazing game for Meta Quest 3 with Meta’s direct backing and attention.

This new funding will offer £50,000 – £150,000 commercial games-for-entertainment content grants. Total project costs must be at least double the requested grant. Rolling deadline, apply any time.
