Climate Disaster Digital Twins Workshop

Royal College of Art, London

Join the Computer Science Research Centre at the Royal College of Art for a full-day workshop exploring the future of resilience-building and preparedness in the face of climate-related disasters, with a particular focus on earthquakes and wildfires.

This interactive event will bring together key stakeholders from academia and industry to discuss and shape the development of Digital Twin environments. These advanced simulations enable the safe rehearsal of complex scenarios, allowing first responders, decision-makers, and the general public to better understand and address critical challenges during extreme events. By leveraging such immersive and interactive tools, researchers and industry professionals can study human behaviour, develop innovative solutions, and educate future generations.

Attendees will have a unique opportunity to participate in talks and panel discussions, experience cutting-edge demonstrations in our state-of-the-art Visualisation Space, and engage in hands-on workshop activities. The event will showcase the xQuake© platform, designed and developed by the RCA’s CSRC team to enhance the modelling of near-real experiences, as well as the iFire© system—developed by the iCinema team at UNSW Sydney and based on the SPARC framework—which represents a step-change in wildfire simulation.
