THERE ARE OVER 160 UNIVERSITIES IN THE UK, MANY SPECIALISING IN, AND BECOMING WORLD LEADERS AT, IMMERSIVE TECH RESEARCH. SO HOW DO OUR UK BUSINESSES TAP INTO THIS EXPERTISE WHEN LOOKING FOR EXCELLENCE IN UNIVERSITY RESEARCH DEPARTMENTS? IMMERSE UK’S FIONA KILKELLY SHARES HER THOUGHTS.
A good starting point is to become an Immerse UK member. By creating a profile you can list the areas of expertise you are working, tag yourself ISCF and then, hey presto, you are easily identifiable to businesses looking for research collaborators.
We recently came across another useful and pro active way of highlighting where universities can offer expertise and in what areas. For example, Bristol University has produced a very helpful outline of their research expertise for consortia looking to work with academic research partners for Audiences of the Future. Professor Dave Bull has agreed to share an example of Bristol Universities’s one pager ‘ISCF Demonstrator Capabilities’ – you can download a copy of it here
We would love to build up a portfolio of these University profiles, if you are developing or planning to develop something similar please let us know as we can help share these with developing consortia in the Audience of the Future Programme. How about developing a ‘UK Immersive Tech Research Portfolio’ – let us know what you think!
