Since its inception in 2023, our ground-breaking awards programme has been growing from strength-to-strength, with more partners from across the immersive technology (XR) ecosystem joining in support. For the Innovate UK Immersive Tech Awards 2025, we are excited to announce that technology company Snap Inc is offering an amazing internship opportunity to UK based university students who are working on new ideas in augmented reality (AR).
Snap’s mission is to contribute to human progress by “empowering people to express themselves, live in the moment, learn about the world and have fun together”. The fantastic 13-week internship opportunity at Snap in London would offer an incredible chance for one student to contribute towards the future of spatial computing by potentially working on core computer vision and scene understanding capabilities, generative AI, new input technologies or AR creation tools.
Through this new partnership in the XR space, we are also very pleased to welcome Qi Pan, Director of Computing Vision Engineering at Snap, who holds a first-class degree from the University of Cambridge, who shares this message for prospective awards entrants:

For the chance to be chosen for this internship, undergraduate and postgraduate students in the UK must enter their XR innovations to one of the below five award categories by 16 March 2025:
