BAFTA-nominated A Brief History of Amazing Stunts by Astounding People is a featured story (and launch content) for Wonderscope, an iOS app for kids that uses augmented reality to transform ordinary spaces into extraordinary stories. With Wonderscope, kids read stories aloud and engage with the characters to help them solve problems along the way. Wonderscope changes the way kids interact with mobile devices, making screen time into an experience of learning and fun, where movement, reading, and exploration leave lasting memories.
This AR story lets the audience take part in three of history’s most impossible stunts and meet the real people that made them happen: Betty Bromage, an 88-year old grandmother who stood on the wings of an airborne bi-plane; Helen Gibson, Hollywood’s first stuntwoman; and Charles Blondin, the first person to tightrope walk across Niagara Falls.
The story responds to a child’s movement and voice—including lines of dialogue that are highlighted as a child reads them aloud—showcasing the platform’s unique potential to elevate early childhood learning.
“We loved working with PRELOADED. Everything from their decks, to their animations, and their interactive sensibilities surprised is with their joyfulness, playfulness and minute attention to detail”. Jonny Ahdout, Director of Development, Within.
Wonderscope is built using Apple’s ARKit, and available on iOS devices now.
