For the Care(Less) Exhibition at Fabrica Gallery, by Lindsay Seers – An immersive virtual reality experience. Seers explores the hallucinatory effect of VR. We are drawn into a state of the aged: a state in which we can quickly become invisible.
The artwork and its accompanying texts and programme of talks, film screenings and activities investigate prevalent attitudes to ageing, the nature of care relationships and ways in which the social care system meets care needs.
Hatsumi ran an analogue body mapping workshop – participants were invited to explore their lived experience of emotional and physial pain, and represent them onto a lifesize tracing of their body. These large illustrations were used as a tool to support the research into what sort of 3D drawing tools to translate into the Hatsumi VR body mapping experience.
