Time Travel VR Tour is an innovative tourism project that uses virtual reality technology to enrich guided tours in Istanbul.
Its aim is to enhance visitors’ experience by revealing the city’s different historical layers — from the grandeur of the Byzantine Empire to the splendor of the Ottoman era — along their real-life route through Istanbul.
Through immersive VR technology, our visitors can step into history and witness life as it once was in these remarkable periods, experiencing the transformation of the city across centuries.
It is Turkey’s first and only guided historical tour experience using on-site Virtual Reality Technology. Launched in 2022 as a startup initiative by Apollo XR, Time Travel VR Tour offers visitors a unique opportunity to travel through time and explore the historical sites and daily life of the Byzantine and Ottoman periods in their original form.
This immersive experience highlights the cultural and architectural significance of each era while aiming to bring historical events to life in a detailed and captivating way. As part of the Istanbul Historical Peninsula Tour, visitors are offered a unique virtual exploration consisting of 5 stops and 7 different scenes.
